Why My Yoga Classes Aren’t Just Another Studio Class (and What That Means for You)
Have you ever walked into a yoga studio confused, nervous, or anxious? A few things that yoga should help you with, not a few things that yoga should bring up for you. Did you get even more confused and frustrated wen class started because, simply put, you had no idea wtf was happening?
Been there, done that!
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not here to bash yoga studios and I’m not trying to convince you to stop going all together. In fact, I love yoga studios and love the community aspect they can bring!
They are missing a few things though, and I’m here to tell you why.
When you practice in a yoga studio, and a class with 10+ you cannot get the personalized attention needed to develop the understand of how your breath and your body moves within the space you occupy and the asana (yoga poses) you are discovering. Not to mention that the class is tailored for a group setting so you might experience frustrations at time.
Common frustrations include the class being too fast (or too slow), confusion around poses that are being called out, and honestly confusions around your rights and lefts because let’s be real you’re tying to keep up with everything else AND STILL move with the pace of class!
PHEW.
We break through the surface level mindfulness and go beyond the physical mind-body connection.
When you feel more comfortable in the yoga space you ask more questions! Questions such as “should my foot be here?” “Should I feel the pose here?” or one of the most common “wait, what’s my breath doing?!”
I, at Yoga With April pride myself on creating a space of safety and curiosity. There is no dumb question when it comes to this practice, your thoughts, and the feels your body will experience. I am there to help you every step of the way!
If you take a moment to check out a few of my reviews I think you will see a few similar messages. The class feels uniquely tailored to you, or the group you’re with. The energy is warm, welcoming, and calm. Our time together always flies by because we’re just having a good, wholesome time.
It’s my absolute goal to create a space you not only feel welcomed in - but supported in. That goes off the mat, too.
What can I expect: Upon reaching out to me to book your private yoga lesson, we will finalize a date, location, and time. We can practice at a studio I partner with, outside in the desert, a conference room, resort, your AirBnb, you name it! I typically like to chat before the class whether that’s in person or on the phone to get an idea of what your vision is for class, what your experience has been, and what yoga you’re curious about! I bring everything to the table and answer all questions before we even make it to the mat. Then we will spend on lesson focusing on breath to start and finish, with a personalized flow unique to just you, or your group!
How to book: That’s easy! Head over to my services tab, and shoot me an email. Let’s get the good times flowing!
